Margaret Rogers 1956 - 2011

Margaret Rogers PhotoMargaret Rogers, 55, Minot, ND, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011, in her daughter’s home.

Margaret Marie Hoffer was born July 20, 1956, a daughter of Arnold and Bertha (Klingman) Hoffer, in Harvey, ND.  She was raised on a farm located near Kief, ND, and educated at Drake Elementary School. She graduated from Minot High School in 1974.

Following her high school graduation, she made her home in Minot for a short time before moving to Hawaii. She had also lived in Virginia for a short time before returning to Minot, where she raised her children. While living in Minot, she worked at the Eagle Aerie Club as a waitress for a time before working various jobs in sales and child care to put herself through school.

She attended Minot State University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work, with a minor in Broadcasting in 1989. She then worked at the Burdick Job Corps as a Residential Advisor for a couple of years. Ill health forced her to retire from social work in 2009.

She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Minot, the National Association of Social Workers, and volunteered many hours for several organizations.

Margaret loved and lived for her children. She also loved to travel. She had awesome willpower and great determination. Margaret was a beautiful, wonderful, thoughtful, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be in our hearts and will always be remembered. 

Her loving family includes:  daughters, Channa Kazban, Minot, and Chazlynn Donovan, Minot;
son, Chad (Bambi) Bruce, Minot; grandchildren, Taissa, Tyler, Treyden, Trevor, Jordan, Chad, Jr., Starlette, Ashton, Keaton, Caylon, and Kirsten; companion, Mike Donovan, Minot;
sisters, Sharon Hoffer, Minot, Elaine Hartzell, East Helena, MT, Sandy (Bob) Frantsvog, Minot, Lynnette (Rick) Stensby, Minot; brothers, Lyle (Lylia) Hoffer, Apache Junction, AZ, Loren (Anita) Hoffer, Minot; and Joel (Rae) Hoffer, Minot; brother-in-law, Lloyd Bredine, Harvey; sister-in-law, Sandy Hoffer, Mandan; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jeff Hoffer; sisters, Karen Bredine, and Linda Clouse; nephew, Robert Frantsvog, Jr.

Funeral: Thursday, November 3, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Minot.

Interment:
  Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Visitation: 
Wednesday from 1 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Prayer Service
: Wednesday at 4:30 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
