Lyle Lavern Rogers 1946 - 2006

Lyle Lavern Rogers, 60, Minot, died Thursday, November 23, 2006 in a Minot hospital.

Lyle was born on June 30, 1946, the son of Lyle Wilson and Laura (Hansen) Rogers, in Minot, ND. He was born with brain damage and cerebral palsy.

At the age of 12, Lyle entered the Grafton state School. In 1994, the laws changed and gave Lyle more rights and a chance at a new life in a group home.

Moving to Minot in 1998 was the beginning of a new way of life for Lyle. His support group helped him meet and cultivate many new friendships.

Lyle was given a quality of life that some people never know and these friendships will last for eternity. He will be missed by all that knew him.

He enjoyed swimming at the Easter Seals warm water pool.

He is survived by: Brothers: Gerald "Butch" (Shari) Rogers, Modesto, CA, Richard (Dorothy) Rogers, Bismarck, ND, Gary (Sherry) Rogers, Lovelock, NV, Andrew Craig Rogers, Albuquerque, NM, Steven (Mary) Rogers Princeton, NC; Sister, Corrine "Corky" (Jim) Sand, Minot,: numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother, Jeffrey Rogers and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation: Tuesday, November 28, 2006 from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Prayer service: Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot

Funeral Service: Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Congregational United Church of Christ, Minot

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot

Officiant: Rev. Frank Picard
