Donna M. Roberts 1932 - 2011 Donna (Dufner) Roberts was born April 9, 1932, on the family farm in rural Lansford, ND, the daughter of John and Susan (Straub) Dufner. She was raised on the farm and graduated from St Agnes Academy, Kenmare, ND. Donna married Lynn N. Roberts on June 4, 1955, at Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot, ND. They made their home on a farmstead outside of Crosby, ND. There they raised 4 children: Marsha (Michael) Allmaras, East Grand Forks, MN; Mark (Melissa) Houston, TX; David (Linda) Bismarck, ND; and Deanne (Paul) Sund, Newburg, ND. Donna’s careers in Crosby included working for the Divide County Journal, local reporter for KEYZ radio station, and Accredited Records Technician (ART) for St. Luke’s hospital. She continued working as an ART at the hospitals and nursing homes in Bottineau, Rolla, and Minot. She served as a state-wide medical records consultant and was a distinguished member of the ND Health Information Management Association. Donna loved people and was known for her kindness. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot, and believed in service to her church and community including Catholic Daughters (past local court regent), P.T.A. (past president, Crosby), and ND Hospital Auxiliary Association (past president). Donna also authored an autobiography as a legacy for her grandchildren entitled “Chicken Necks and Vinegar Pie.” Those who shared in her life include: loving husband of 56 years, Lynn, Minot; brothers and sisters: Vergil Dufner, Minot; Albin Dufner, Minot; Delores (Merle) Routledge, Glenburn; Vernita Broderick, Minot; Loreen (Mike) Kiskila, San Jose, CA; Orville (Sharen) Dufner, Minot; Theresa Bowen, Bellville, Il; and Betty (Ed) Schall, Minot; sisters-in-law, Ava Dufner, Lansford; Emily Dufner, Fargo; Doris Kelso, Vancouver, WA; brother-in-law, Eldon Roberts, Mesa, AZ; half sister, Agnes Poppler, Williston; four children, 13 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Donna was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marcella Weber; brother, Melvin Dufner; infant brother; and stepmother, Irene Dufner.
