Adolph A. Ringdahl 1911 - 2005

Adolph A. Ringdahl, 94, 305 8th Ave. NE, Minot, ND, died Wednesday, October 26, 2005, at a Minot nursing home.

Adolph Alexander Ringdahl was born on June 30, 1911, the son of Thorwald and Petra (Anderson) Ringdahl in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. He was raised on the family farm, located in Amundsville Township of McLean County and attended Wright School.

Adolph was married to Erma E. Merriam on April 5, 1944, in Washburn, ND. They made their home near Ryder, where he farmed and also drove bus for Parshall Public Schools. He retired after 20 years at the age of 65 years. He and Erma were then employed by the Bookmobile, where he drove and she was the librarian for both Mountrail and McKenzie County for the next seven years. Erma passed away on May 4, 1987. In the fall of 1991, he moved to Fargo to live with his son, Leonard and family. In 1996, he moved to Minot and resided at Edgewood Vista. Since March of 1999, he had resided at Trinity Homes in Minot.

Surviving family includes: children, Leonard (Ruby) Ringdahl, Harwood, ND, Lois Ringdahl, Minot, Donald Ringdahl, Kathryn, ND, and David Ringdahl, West Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Minda, Tyler, and Corey Ringdahl; sister, Lydia Bradshaw, Sequim, WA; brother-in-law, Ivan Brown; sister-in-law, Marian Ringdahl; nephew, Ricky Ringdahl; nieces, Thorine Peterson and Lorna Swanson.

Adolph was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Erma, son, Gary Ringdahl, brothers, William, and Thoralf Ringdahl, sisters, Palma and Lilly; niece, Alice Case; brothers and sisters-in-law.

Funeral: Saturday, October 29, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Homes Chapel, Minot, ND.

Interment: Saturday at 12:00 p.m. at the Garrison City Cemetery, Garrison, ND.

Visitation: The family will greet friends and family on Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
