John Richter 1926- 2002

John Richter, 75, 810 16th St. NW, Minot, died Tuesday, April 16, 2002, in the Fargo VA Hospital.

He was born May 26, 1926, the son of Mike and Barbara (Kunnanze) Richter in Harvey. He was reared and educated in Selz.

He entered the United States Army on November 13, 1944, serving during World War II. He was honorably discharged on October 29, 1946.

He married Lena Duchsherer on June 19, 1956, at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot. John was employed by the Minot Public School System for 24 years and after his retirement drove bus for Northland Bus Company.

He was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot.

Survivors: wife, Lena, Minot; son, Darrell Richter and his wife Kathy, Brooklyn Park, MN; daughter, Diane Schuster and her husband Bill, Burnsville, MN; brother, Maddis Richter, Minot; sisters, Catherine Leintz, Harvey, Marion Bartsch and her husband Victor, Harvey, Christina Carlson and her husband David, Yuma, AZ, and Eunice Kraft and her husband Walter, Grand Junction, CO; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, George, Anton, and Pius, sisters, Ceil, Barbara, and Ella Mae.

Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, April 20, 2002, at 10 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot.

Visitation; Friday, April 19, 2002, from noon until 7 p.m., at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Rosary Recitation and Prayer Service: Friday, April 19, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
