Joseph W. Richeson 1950 - 2005 Joseph W. Richeson, 54, 5921 Ward County Road 12, Minot, ND, died Thursday, March 17, 2005 at his residence. Joseph was born September 10, 1950, in Minot, ND, the son of Robert and Margaret (Gieser) Richeson. He attended school in Granville and Parshall, before graduating from Minot High School in 1970. In August of 1970, Joe was drafted into the United States Army. On January 16, 1971, Joey was united in marriage to Cheryl Balerud in Minot, ND. Following their marriage, they were stationed in Fort Leonard Wood, MO, for basic training, Fort Richardson, Anchorage, Alaska, where their two sons, Shane and Chad were born, and Fort Sill, Lawton, Oklahoma. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Marksman Qualification Badge rifle. Joe was honorably discharged May 12, 1978, when they returned to Minot. Following their return to Minot, Joe went to work for Nesham/Peterson, Berthold, where he was a heavy equipment operator. Joe continued to travel to Alaska, working construction on remote air bases. In 1994, he moved back to Minot permanently, working as a heavy equipment operator for the Local 49. Where he was employed at the time of his death. He was a member of Our Lady Of Grace Catholic Church, Minot, and the Minot American Legion. He enjoyed watching sporting events, and will be greatly missed. He is survived by: Wife: Cheryl, Minot Sons: Shane (His fiancé, Tina Johnson), Fargo; Chad (Jodee), Minot; Brothers; Lloyd (Verdell), Bismarck, ND; John (LeRae) WaKeeney, KS; Tony "Dude" (Becky), Witchita, KS: Donald (Lynette), Olympia, WA; Sisters: Marcella Dibble, Lodi, CA; Raetha Evenson, Circle, MT; Margaret (LeRoy) Giese, Max, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Marie Evenson.
