Margaret "Polly" Reinarts 1921 - 2011

Margaret "Polly" Reinharts PhotoMARGARET “POLLY” REINARTS, age 90, of Preston, Minn., a resident of Minot, N. Dakota, for more than 70 years, died Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at Traditions of Preston.
    
Margaret Elaine Gorman was born April 16, 1921, in Bowbells, N. Dak., a daughter of John and Lillian (Peterson) Gorman.  She was raised in Bowbells and graduated from high school there in 1939.  She came to Minot where she attended Minot State College and later the Minot College of Business.  As a young woman, she worked for the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) in Bowbells prior to her marriage to Donald H. Reinarts on November 10, 1941, in Bowbells.  The couple made their home in the Minot area.  In addition to her husband’s career at the Minot Post Office, she and her husband operated a grain farm southeast of Minot.  This is where they raised their four children and lived for 36 years before selling the property and moving into the city of Minot.  In 2009 they moved to Traditions of Preston to be near their family.  Donald died May 14, 2011.
   
Margaret was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers.  She was also a member of St. Joseph’s Hospital, American Legion and Elks Lodge Auxiliaries, the Magic Squares and the Hustlers Round and Square Dance Club all of Minot.  When their children were in school, she was active in their activities, including, the Parent Teacher Association and the annual Bishop Ryan Carnival.  In Preston she was a member of St. Columban Catholic Church.
    
Margaret was devoted to being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and all the activities those roles encompassed.  She was equally devoted to her faith.  She wove into family life her skills as a cook and seamstress and enjoyed playing cards, gardening and square dancing with her husband and partner.
    
She is survived by: sons, Tom (Judy) Reinarts of Peterburg, Ark., and Mike (Theresa) Reinarts of Eagan, Minn.; daughters, Patricia Gartner of Preston and Susan (Bruce Wick) Stubinski of Houston, Tex.; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Robert Reinarts of Minot and Milton Aisenbrey of Newburg, N. Dak.; and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Lois Aisenbrey and Maxine Siemers; and son-in-law, Mike Gartner.
    
Mass of Christian Burial: Monday, October 3, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Minot. 

Burial
: Rosehill Memorial Park in Minot. 

Visitation
: Monday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials
are preferred to Mayo Hospice in Rochester, Minn., Bishop Ryan High School in Minot or the donor’s choice.
