Magdelyn Redding 1925 - 2010

Magdelyn Redding PhotoMagdelyn Redding, 84, Donnybrook, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in a Minot hospital.

Magdelyn Feller was born May 5, 1925, in Karlsruhe, ND to Paul and Katherine (Heilman) Feller.  She was raised and attended school in Karlsruhe.

On October 20, 1949, Magdelyn married Lowell Redding at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Karlsruhe.  Following their marriage they made their home on the family farm near Donnybrook, where they raised their 5 children, Sheila, Dale, Mavis, Keith  and Allen, and farmed and ranched their entire lives.  She worked hard for her family, her home and on the farm. She was very proud of everything she and her family accomplished.   Lowell passed away on February 22, 2009.

Magdelyn was a very dedicated member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Donnybrook and active in the Altar Society.  She was honored with a plaque from Carbondale Township for her service of over 40 years as township clerk.  She was a member of the Carpio Senior Citizens and the Donnybrook American Legion Auxiliary where she enjoyed serving lunch and getting together with friends.   Mag was always active in community events and was always happy to bring a pan of bars for any occasion.  She enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening, and sewing.  She was proud of the many quilts she made. The coffeepot was always on and a cookie ready in case company stopped by.  She lived for her family, her home and her faith.

We feel so blessed that God chose her for our mother and grandmother.  She was someone we could laugh with, cry with or just spend a quiet moment with.  Mag was the type of person who, just by talking to her, could brighten your day.  She was our “Best Friend” and she will be deeply missed.
