Lowell L. Redding 1925 - 2009 Lowell was born December 6, 1925 in Kenmare, ND, the son of Edgar and Gertrude (Gregoire) Redding. He was raised on the family farm near Donnybrook and attended Donnybrook High School. On October 20, 1949, Lowell married Magdelyn Feller at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Karlsruhe. Following their marriage they made their home on the family farm near Donnybrook, where they raised their family, farmed and ranched their entire lives. Lowell was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Donnybrook and served on the church council for several years. He was a member of the Donnybrook Volunteer Fire Department, the Carpio Senior Citizens, the Moose Lodge and the Eagle's Aerie, both in Minot. Lowell loved to dance, play cards and together with his wife they loved traveling, visiting family and friends. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed the times spent with them. He loved to visit and could often be found telling a good story or two. Lowell was a wonderful husband of 60 years and a great dad, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend who will be deeply missed. Those who shared in his life, loving wife of 60 years, Magdelyn, Donnybrook; children, Dale Redding, Anchorage, AK, Mavis (Kim) Edwards, Minot, Keith (Josie Sanchez) Redding, Phoenix, AZ, Allen (Kristi) Redding, Donnybrook; son-in-law, Leonard Mattern, West Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Jason (Andrea) Mattern, Michelle Mattern, Shawn (Crystal Schaeffer) Mattern and Greg Mattern, Michael and Devon Redding, Jessica (Justin) Ahmann, Austin, Logan, and Dawson, Redding; great-grandchildren, Kailen Mattern and Grisom Schaeffer; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins survive. Lowell was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Mattern; daughter-in-law, Valerie Redding and his parents, Edgar and Gertrude. Funeral Mass: Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Donnybrook, ND. Visitation and vigil prayer service: Visitation Wednesday, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. with the vigil prayer service at 7:00 p.m., all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Burial: St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Donnybrook, ND. Celebrant of the Liturgies: Father Selva Periannan Music Honorary Bearers: Lowell's family, friends and neighbors Active Bearers: Lowell's grandchildren Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to drive with your headlights and hazard lights on. Please use caution on the highway. At the cemetery please follow the family to the graveside for the final prayers. Following the graveside service everyone is invited to join
the family for lunch and fellowship at St. Anthony's Parish Hall. |
