Esther Rasmusson 1923 - 2009 Esther Julia Lundt was born July 6, 1923, along with her twin brother, Elmer, in Minneapolis, MN. She was the only daughter of Halvor E. and Sylvia (Striegle) Lundt. At the age of six years, she and her family moved to a farm 11 miles north of Palermo. She attended Crowfoot Township She then began her teaching career at Crowfoot Township School where she taught for one year, and had also taught at Ager School District near Ross for a year. Esther married Carl O. Rasmusson August 14, 1943, in Blaisdell, ND. They made their home on a farm located in Crowfoot Township, Mountrail County, west of Coulee, where they farmed and raised their three children. In 1959, they moved to Kenmare, where she worked at the Kenmare Laundry and the Kenmare Baptist Home for several years. During this time she had also worked various cleaning and care giving jobs. Carl passed away September 17, 1984. Following her husband’s death, she had continued to reside in Kenmare. She was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare, and its Eunice Circle. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church, rural Palermo. She enjoyed taking photos, putting together photo albums, sewing, quilting, cooking, baking, and having coffee with the neighbors. She especially enjoyed spending time with and babysitting her grandchildren. Surviving family includes: Esther was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; twin brother, Elmer Lundt; brothers, Ernest, Arthur and Harold Lundt. Funeral: Saturday, November 28, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare.
