Ardyth "Artie" Rasmusson, 71, Kenmare, died Saturday, December 13, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, MN.

Ardyth Ann Olson was born on September 1, 1937 a daughter of Melvin and Henrietta (Pfeiffer) Olson in Fargo, ND. She attended St. Mary's Grade School and graduated from Shanley High School in Fargo.

On June 29, 1957, she was united in marriage to Gerald A. Rasmusson in Fargo. They lived in Fargo, Jamestown and New Rockford, ND, before moving to Kenmare in 1970, when they purchased the Coast to Coast store, later becoming True Value Hardware Store. Artie assisted Gerald with the management of the store until retiring in 1999. For the past five years, Artie has worked as a cashier at the Super Value store in Kenmare.

Artie was active with the St. Agnes Catholic Church, she served as Eucharistic minister, was active with Bible study, and a ladies group. Artie was also involved with the Pioneer Village, Birthday Club, enjoyed ceramics and was involved with cancer fund raising. She enjoyed having coffee with friends, but most of all was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Those who shared her life: Husband of 51 years, Gerald, Kenmare, ND; children: Brenda (Kim) Ankenbauer, Washburn, ND, David (Beth) Rasmusson, Aberdeen, SD, Thomas (DelRee) Rasmusson, Kenmare, Timothy (Kari) Rasmusson, Bowbells, ND, Cheryl Gumeringer, Roseau, MN, son-in-law Randy Steen, Stanley, ND; 13 grandchildren: Torie (Damien) Reinhart, St. Paul, MN, Tera Ankenbauer, Bismarck, ND, Candace Ankenbauer, Washburn, ND, Kelly (Mike) Peterson, Tolley, ND, Jessica Rasmusson, Kenmare, Tye Rasmusson, Kenmare, Sean Rasmusson, Aberdeen, SD, Caitlyn Rasmusson, Aberdeen, SD, Casey Rasmusson, Bowbells, Ryan Rasmusson, Bowbells, Adam Gumeringer, Roseau, MN, Kiah Gumeringer, Roseau, MN and Levi Gumeringer, Roseau, MN; brother Robert (Naomi) Olson, Fargo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Artie was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Joan, brothers William and Dale.

Vigil Prayer Service: Thursday, December 18, 2007 at 7 pm at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kenmare

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, December 19, 2008 at 10:30 am at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kenmare
