Elinor Ramsdell 1928 - 2009 Elinor Rae Pritchard was born September 4, 1928 in Kelso, WA, a daughter of Gerald and Myrtle (Jones) Pritchard. She was raised and educated in Kelso. On October 24, 1946 Elinor married Floyd Ramsdell at Chehalis, WA. Following their marriage they lived in Castle Rock, WA for a time and in 1942 moved to Norma, ND. They farmed in the Norma area until 1972, when they moved into Kenmare. While in Kenmare Elinor worked at the Sportsman Café. In 1976 they moved to Powers Lake, where Elinor owned and operated Ma's Dairy Bar for several years. She also worked at Tri Our Electric and Furniture and Jorgenson Lumber in Powers Lake and later worked at the Battleview Bar. Her husband Floyd passed away on June 1, 1987. Elinor moved to Tioga, where she lived the last 16 years, before moving to Minot a year and a half ago. While living in Tioga she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the last few years ran and operated her daughter's bar, the Skol Bar in Tioga. Elinor enjoyed dancing, playing cards, having coffee with family and friends and a little bit of gambling at the casino. Those who shared in her life, children, Prace (Pat) Ramsdell, Surrey, ND, Dick (Pam) Ramsdell, Kenmare, ND, Karen Hawkinson, Tioga, ND and Gary (Colette) Ramsdell, Minot; grandchildren, Kristy (Dan) Leier, Minot, Carrie (Brad) Jacobson, Fargo, Aaron Ramsdell, Bismarck, Sheila (Mike) Melaas, Minot, Kim (Steve) Anderson, York, Derek Ramsdell, Minot, Kirk (Sara) Hawkinson, New Town, Tyler Hawkinson and Ellie Hawkinson, both in Tioga, Chandra (Chris) Rystedt, Powers Lake, Kasey (Josh) Huseby, Minot and Leslie (Tyler) Grubb, Minot; great-grandchildren, Eric, Jacob, Matthew, Jenna, Allison, Brayden, Hunter, Zack, Brooke, Cole, Leigha, Carter, Chiara, Camryn, Sam and Will; step-brother, Damon Derrick, Kamiah, ID. Elinor was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Ramsdell, son-in-law, Duran Hawkinson, her parents, Gerald and Myrtle Pritchard; step-brother, Stan Derrick. Funeral: Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, Minot, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial: Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare, ND in the spring.
