Appie Rademacher, 80, Minot, ND, formerly of Foxholm, ND, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at Trinity Homes, Minot.

Epilonia Philomena "Appie" Wald was born February 23, 1929, the fifth child born to Joe and Anna (Boehm) Wald on the family farm near Norwich, ND. She was raised on the family farm and educated in Surrey, ND. She graduated from Surrey High School in 1947. After graduation, she stayed home on the farm to assist her parents with the daily operation of the family farm.

Appie married Donald F. Rademacher June 21, 1950, at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot. They made their home on a farm located in Kirkelie Township of Ward County, near Foxholm, ND, where they farmed and raised dairy cows. They made their home on the farm until 1981, when they moved to Minot.

She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot, where she was active in the St. Francis Altar Society, and had volunteered at the food pantry. She was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Foxholm, St. Mary's Christian Mothers, the Foxholm Homemakers Club and the Foxholm Birthday Club.

She enjoyed sewing, baking, dancing, and 'milking cows'. Although it was a difficult part of the journey, she made many friends at Trinity Homes, with her quick wit and through the activities. She enjoyed quilting, bingo, music, current events and special events with other residents and staff. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving family includes: husband of 59 years, Don, Minot; children, Daryl (JoAnne) Rademacher, Foxholm; and Judy Bloms, Minot; grandchildren, Darick (Jennifer) and Wade Rademacher; Jennifer (Nick) Bormann, Ellen (Chris) Warner, Kent (Dena) Bloms, and Timmy Anderson; great-grandchildren, Brianna and Dustin Rademacher; Jacob and Marlee Bormann; Beckett and Taeson Warner; and Keaton and Owen Bloms; brothers, Andy (Mathilda) Wald, Norwich, Harold (Elaine) Wald, Norwich, and Jimmy (Helen) Wald, Surrey, ND; sisters, Regina (John) Klein, Helen (John) Keller, Ann Black, Lorraine (Edward) Ziegler, Leona Mosser, Theresa Larson, and Mary Ann (Robert) Larson, all of Minot; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Wald, Minot; brother-in-law, Jerry Schwan, Seattle, WA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Appie was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Missi Rademacher; brother, John Wald; sister, Rose Schwan; brothers-in-law, Jerome Larson, Richard Mosser, and Ralph Black.

Funeral: Friday, August 14, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.

Interment: Friday at 1:00 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Foxholm, ND.

Visitation: Thursday from 3 to 7:30 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Vigil Prayer Service: Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
