Willie (Bill) Henry Poline
1928- 2006 Willie was born October 25, 1928 on the family homestead in Diamond Township, rural Coteau, ND, the son of Wilhelm and Emma (Hammel) Poline. He was raised on the family farm where he helped his parents, and attended Diamond Township School through the eighth grade. The family moved to Northgate and than west of Bowbells and later into Bowbells. During this time Willie helped area farmers. He worked in the oil fields for several years and later Willie and Elmer Roness started R and P Builders. On November 14, 1969 Willie married Noreen Nelson at United Methodist Church in Bowbells. They made their home in Bowbells, where Willie continued to work construction until his partner Elmer died. He then went to work at the Bowbells High School as custodian, where he worked until 1990. In 1992 he started working for the City of Bowbells where he worked until ill health forced him to retire. Willie was a member of United Methodist Church, Bowbells, where he was usher for several years. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Bows and Bells Square Dance Club. He enjoyed bowling and was active in local bowling leagues. He is survived by his wife, Noreen Poline, Bowbells; son, Richard V. Poline, Bowbells; daughters, Katherine V. Poline, Minot, and Belinda J. (John) Moen, Powers Lake; two grandchildren, Paige Samantha Moen and Austin John Moen; brothers, Elmer Poline, Bowbells, and Clifford (Pearl) Hammel, Spokane, WA; sisters, Irene (Harley) Nordloef, Kenmare, and Evelyn (Charles) Becker, Chicago, IL; and several nieces, nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews. Willie was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth and Marie; and one brother, Oscar. Funeral: Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church, Bowbells. Visitation: Tuesday one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial: Bowbells Cemetery, Bowbells, ND. Officiant: Rev.
