Nadeen Pierson 1926 - 2011

Nadeen Pierson PhotoNadeen Pierson, 84, Minot, died Thursday, January 20, 2011 in a Minot hospital.

Nadeen Frye was born on October 24, 1926, a daughter of Godfrey and Verbena (Talley) Frye in Cavalier, ND.  She was raised and attended grade school west of Glenburn. Nadeen received her GED from Miles Community College in Miles City, MT.

On July 26, 1943, Nadeen was united in marriage to Robert Pierson in Plentywood, MT. Throughout the years, they made their home in Newburg, Glenburn and Minot, where Nadeen worked as a cook and sales clerk. Later they moved to Miles City, MT, where employment with Mayo Brothers/Portable Pavers allowed them to move where construction jobs took them. Robert died September 9, 2001. Following his death, she continued to live in Minot.

Nadeen enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, playing the organ, cooking, sharing recipes and reading. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Minot.

She is survived by:
                Children: Marlys (Larry) Hauser, Foxholm, ND, Ron (Jeani) Pierson, Miles City, MT, Dianna (Richard) Johnson, Minot, Harlan “Mort” (Shannon) Pierson, Apache Junction, AZ; daughter-in-law: Linda Pierson, Phoenix, AZ; 12 grandchildren: 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; brother Gary (Barbara) Frye, Minot, ND; and a special person LeAnn Steenerson, Minot; several nieces nephews and cousins also survive.

Nadeen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, son Milo, sisters Dorothy, Inez, Bernice, Bertha, brothers Roy, Orville and Harvey.

Visitation:  Sunday, January 23, 2011 from noon until 5 pm at Thompson Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Funeral Service:  Monday, January 24, 2011 at 11 am at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot

Immediately following the graveside service everyone is invited to join the family for lunch and fellowship in the fellowship hall of the church. Those not attending the graveside service may begin the luncheon.

Nadeen’s family would like to thank everyone for the many acts of kindness shown to them during this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten. May God bless the memory of Nadeen.
