2003 Raymond "Peter" L. Peterson,79, Bowbells, ND, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at his residence. Raymond was born on October 28, 1923, in Bowbells, ND, the son of John and Gladys (Marks) Peterson. He was reared and educated in Northgate and graduated from Northgate High School. Raymond joined the United States Army on November 13, 1944, serving during World War II. He was honorably discharged on November 18, 1946, and awarded the Purple Heart. Raymond married Agnes Frick on September 27, 1947, at Plentywood, MT. The couple farmed in the Flaxton-Northgate area from 1947, until the late 90's, when they moved into Bowbells. Survivors: wife, Agnes, Bowbells; children, Wanda (Jesse) Cole, Hillsborough, NC, John Peterson, Advance, NC, Mary Peterson, Minot, ND, and Joe (Darla) Peterson, Bowbells; grandchildren, Joy and Kory Peterson, Advance, NC, and Lacey, Jamie, and Ryan Peterson, Bowbells; daughter-in-law, Brenda Peterson, Advance, NC; brother, Robert Peterson, Minot; sister, Betty (Richard) Frick, Minot, and Beverly Schneider, Oregon; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, nephews, Bob Peterson and Tom Frick, sister-in-law, Clarann Peterson and brother-in-law, Mike Schneider. Memorial Service: Monday, June 23, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Bowbells. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church. Officiant: Rev.
