Olive Shirley Peterson
1941- 2007 Olive was born on November 24, 1941, in Burke County, ND, the daughter of Henry and Mae (Gleave) Mariner. She was reared and educated in Burke County. Olive was united in marriage to Darrell Peterson on December 25, 1957, in Tioga, ND. The couple made their home in Tioga where Olive worked for Del-Royce Café. In 1961, the family moved to Keene, ND, and later in 1964, they moved to Lignite, ND, where they have lived ever since. While living in Lignite, Olive worked for Bergs Red Owl for many years. Survivors: husband of 49 years, Darrell, Lignite; children, Rhonda Halvorson and her companion Galen Kalmbach, Lignite, DeeDee (Jeff) Jensen, Mohall, and Roxanne (Ben) Tohm, Mohall; son, Ron (Laura) Peterson, Farmington, NM; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Marvy and Mike Mariner, Minot, Les Mariner, Kenmare; sisters, Chum Wolkenhauer, Cedar Wooley, WA and Dyna Fry, Anacortes, WA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Olive was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother, and her namesake niece, Olive Mariner and other nieces, nephews and others Funeral Service: Friday, May 25, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Lignite, ND Visitation: Thursday, May 24, 2007, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. at Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare, ND. Officiant: Pastor Phyllis Scroggins Music: Opening hymn "Precious Lord, Take My Hand"
