Mavis E. Peterson • 1929 - 2010

Mavis E. Peterson, 80, Wichita, Kan., formerly of Minot, died Saturday, Feb.13, 2010, in her home.

Mavis E. Thompson was born June 7, 1929, on a farm north of Carpio to Archie and Mary (Cummings) Thompson. She was reared and educated in Carpio.

She married Albin Peterson on July 3, 1947. The couple made their home in Minot for over 50 years. Albin died on Jan. 8, 2001.

While in Minot, she worked as a waitress in several Minot restaurants. She worked for Liq-Trol Inc. as a manager for over 20 years. She retired in 1997.

Mavis was an avid reader and loved her family.

Those who shared in Mavis' life: sons, James Peterson, Hamilton, Ohio, and Bruce Peterson (Melanie), of Henderson, Nev.; daughters, Renda Davis, Wichita, Kan., Valerie Bellis (Mike Mozel), Forked River, N.J., and Judith Farroh (Steve), Minot; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sister, Florence Erickson, Minot; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private Interment will take place at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Memorials: The family has asked that memorials be sent to the Salvation Army or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
