Joyce Peterson 1930 - 2002

Joyce Peterson, 72, 600 South Main St. Minot, died Thursday in a Minot nursing home.

She was born April 27, 1930, in Velva, ND to Gerhard and Pearl (Pretzer) Peterson. She was reared and educated in the Velva area and graduated from Velva High School. In 1950 she moved to San Francisco, CA, where she worked as an office clerk. In 1964, she moved back to Velva and started working at the auditor's office at the Ward County Courthouse. In 1978 she moved to Minot and continued working at the courthouse until retiring in the early 1990's. Joyce continued living in Minot and in the fall of 1997 she entered ManorCare where she was presently residing.

Survivors: sister, Donna Myers and her husband Robert, Jupiter, FL; cousin, Dorothy Lewis and her son, Ken Lewis and his wife Jolene, with whom Joyce lived with throughout the years and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Gordon, Stanley and Donald Peterson.

Funeral: Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva.

Visitation: Monday, from noon until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
