Helen Marie Peterson 1931- 2006 Helen was born August 13, 1931, in Aberdeen, SD, the daughter of Joseph S. and Elizabeth (Bruckner) Yeoman. She was reared and educated in Aberdeen. In 1950, Helen moved to Minot and went to work at Minot Federal Savings and Loan. On October 20, 1952, she was united in marriage to Lyle G. Peterson at St. Leo's Catholic Church. The couple made their home in Minot until 1979, when they moved to Williston, ND, where Helen worked for Commercial Builders. Upon the couples retirement they moved back to Minot in 1983. Lyle passed away on April 6, 1988. Helen was a founding member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot, where she was active with the St. Louise Altar Society and a volunteered at the food pantry. She was also a member of the Minot Prairie Quilters Quilt Guild. Helen was an accomplished seamstress and quilter making numerous quilts for family and friends. Survivors: son, Wayne C. Peterson, Minot; daughter, Merri Jo (Kevin) Connole, Minot; grandchildren, Erin E. Connole, Marcie A. (James) Burns, and Rebecca K. (Steven) Knutson; sisters, Linda (John) McGraw, Brooklyn Park, MN and Maxine (Wallace) Solum, Fargo, ND. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle, her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth and her brother, Joseph H. Yeoman. Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot. Recitation of the Holy Rosary: Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot. Visitation: Tuesday, May 30, 2006, from Noon until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
