Edwin T. Peterson • 1913 - 2004 Edwin T. Peterson, 91, Bowbells, died Wednesday, August 25, 2004, in the Kenmare hospital. Edwin was born February 28, 1913, on the family farm in Ward Township, Burke County, near Bowbells, ND, the son of Andrew and Marie Peterson. He attended Ruhnke country school, west of Coteau, through the 8th grade. While growing up he helped his parents on the family farm and also hired out to area farmers. Edwin, along with his team of horses worked on road construction for several years in that area. Edwin was once married to Ruby Hanson, whom he married on February 26, 1935. In 1941 he purchased a farm in Ward Township near Bowbells, where they raised their family and farmed. He retired from farming in the early 1990's, but continued to be around the farm and farming remained an active part of his life. Edwin had a deep trust in his Savior Jesus Christ. Edwin was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church, Coteau, ND, until it closed. He was currently a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Bowbells and had been active on both church councils. He was also a member of the Bowbells Masonic Lodge, and the Coteau School Board, where he served as president for several years. Edwin loved his family and enjoyed all the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. Edwin was an avid outdoorsman, who loved being with family and friends hunting or fishing. Those Who Shared In His Life: Daughter, Edwina (Larry) Wahlund, Minot; daughter-in-law, Jeanie Peterson, Billings, MT; grandchildren, Jay (Carla) Wahlund, and their children, Brecca, Jaden, Paxten, Allie, and Abbie, Nancy (Dean) Ziegler, and their children, Justin, Kristin, and Kelsey, Janet (Brian) Hornecker, and their children, Ryne and Alexa, all of Minot, Susan (Lenny) Rodin, Kenmare, and their children Hunter, Jacob, and Brooklyn, Jon (Norma) Wahlund, Chandler, AZ, Jeff (Julie) Peterson, Billings, MT, and their son, Colt, and Scott Peterson, Sacramento, CA. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Lennie and Lloyd Peterson; brothers, Arthur and Albin Peterson; sisters, Anna Asseltine, Ellen Dahl, Esther Baglien, and Pearl Kimmel. Funeral: Saturday, August 28, 2004, at 11:00 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Bowbells, ND. Visitation: Friday, August 27, 2004, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, and Saturday, August 28, from 9:30 to service time at the church.
