Tilda Pederson 1920 - 2010

Tilda Pederson PhotoTilda Pederson, 89, Minot, ND, died Thursday, February 18, 2010, in a Minot care facility.

Tilda O. Kittleson was born September 16, 1920, a daughter of Henry and Dena (Kinn) Kittleson, in Benedict, ND. She was raised in Benedict and graduated from Max High School.

Following her high school graduation, she moved to Minot, where she attended Minot Business College.

Tilda married Sigurd Pederson October 12, 1940, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Benedict, ND. They made their home in Minot, where they raised their son, Dennis. She later worked as a housekeeper, and had cooked for various restaurants in Minot. Tilda and Sigurd managed the Lincoln Apartment Complex for over 20 years. In their later years, they purchased property on Lake Audubon, where they spent their summers for 30 years. Tilda and Sigurd enjoyed fishing and gardening. Sigurd passed away March 16, 2004. She continued to reside in Minot at Edgewood Vista.

She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Minot, and later Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot, where she taught Sunday school and was a junior league advisor.

She enjoyed playing bridge, ceramics, canning, bowling, and was known for her excellent cooking.

Surviving family includes:  son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Nikki Pederson, Minot; grandchildren, Christine (Christopher) Nagy, Kim (Martin) Aita, and Kevin Pederson; great-grandchildren, Sara Graves, Dimitre, Chad and Courtney Pederson; brother, Elmo (Twyla) Kittleson, Benedict; sister, Anna (Larry) Evenson, Bowdon; sisters-in-law, Viola Baskett, Olalla, WA, Bernice Kittleson, Minot, and Irene Pederson, Minot; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tilda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sigurd; brothers, Ole and Art Kittleson; sisters, Helen Boedicker, Gladys Krebsbach, and Evelyn Erickson.

Funeral: Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.

Interment:
  Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Visitation:  Tuesday from Noon to 5 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
