Oscar Pede 1924 - 2011

Oscar Pede PhotoOscar Pede, 86, Minot, ND, formerly of Max, ND, died Saturday, October 8, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer at Trinity Homes in Minot.

Oscar Edgar Pede was born November 7 1924, a son of Emanuel and Irene (Schmidt) Pede, on the family farm located in rural Max, ND. He was raised on the family farm and educated in Max. He graduated from Max High School with honors around 1942.

Following his high school graduation, he assisted his father with the operation of the family farm for many years. He later helped his brother-in-law, Carl Carlson, farm that same land.

Oscar was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Minot, where he sang in the church choir. While living at the Milton Young Towers, he participated in a Bible study group.

He enjoyed playing the violin and taking walks.

Those who shared in his life:  brother-in-law, Carl Carlson, Minot; nieces, Deborah Golly and her late husband, Norval, Minot, Barbara Carlson, Minot, and Sandra (Leonard) Hall, Seattle, WA; and a nephew, Bradley (Mary Lou) Carlson, Bluffton, MN, and several cousins.

Oscar was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lyla Pede Carlson.

Funeral: Thursday, October 13, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Minot.

Interment:
  St. Matthew’s Cemetery, Max, ND.

Visitation: 
Wednesday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

: are preferred to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Minot, or to the American Cancer Society.
