Johnny Pearson, 90, 601 24th Ave. SW, Minot, ND, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2008, in a Minot hospital.

Johnny Alvin Pearson was born September 2, 1918, a son of John Algot and Alma Ida (Wendt) Pearson on the family farm located in Sundre Township of Ward County, south of Minot, ND.
He was raised and educated there.

Johnny married Ruby Riffey December 17, 1944. From this union, a daughter, Janice Marie, was born. They made their home in Minot, where from March of 1950 to 1959, he was employed as a general mechanic by the Veterans Administration at John Moses Regional Air Force Hospital. He then worked in the engineering division as a maintenance mechanic until retiring in August of 1983.

His wife, Ruby passed away June 14, 1968, and their daughter, Janice passed away March 7, 2001.

Johnny married Betty (Bryans) Ellingson November 28, 1969, in Minot. They continued to make their home in Minot.

He enjoyed gardening, wood crafts, painting and his church. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Minot.

Surviving family includes: wife, Betty, Minot; grandchildren, Jeffrey Lee Flammang, Malibu, CA, and Rickie Allen Flammang, Dallas, TX; step daughter, Janice (Ken) Weller, Denver, CO; step granddaughter, Elizabeth Weller, Denver, CO; brother, H.C. (Colleen) Pearson, Amery, WI; sister, Donna (Ron) Brettingen, Glenwood City, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ruby; daughter, Janice Flammang; brothers, Harry, Raymond, Stanley, and Murphy Pearson; and sisters, Myrtle Vangsness, Irene Christianson, Evelyn Flammang, and Betty Stewart.

Funeral: Saturday, September 13, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Friday from Noon to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials: Johnny's family suggests memorial contributions be made to Christ Lutheran Church, Trinity Hospice or to an organization of the donor's choice.
