Gilbert Derwood Pearson • 1917 - 2003

Gilbert Derwood Pearson, 86, Minot, ND, died Wednesday, December 24, 2003, at his son's home in Minot.

Gilbert was born on July 17, 1917 in Tennessee, the son of Lige and Cora (Devaise) Pearson. He grew up in Tennessee.

On September 14, 1940, he was united in marriage with Louise Goodman at Doniphan, Missouri.

He was a minister of the United Pentecostal Church since 1944. He pastured in Coolidge, AZ, Eloy, AZ, Ajo, AZ, Prescott, AZ, Woodlake, CA, Santa Barbara, CA and his last pastorate was from 1972 through 1978 in Roseburg, Oregon.

Gilbert worked for Magic City Janitorial Services, owned by his two sons, for the past 16 years until his recent illness.

His greatest loves were his family and his church. He also loved to travel and did so extensively across the United States.

His is survived by his wife of 63 years, Louise, Minot, two sons, Gilbert W. (Barbara) Pearson, Minot, and Jim (Debbie) Pearson, Minot and one daughter, Nola Bradford, Bakersfield, California, seven grandchildren, Nathaniel Pearson, Charles Pearson, Vaughn Pearson, Peggy April, Kevin Bradford, James B. Pearson and Jaime Pearson; eleven great-grandchildren, Marcus Pearson, Alexia Pearson, Natalie Pearson, Preston Pearson, Garret Pearson, Clarissa Pearson, Nathaniel "Guy" Pearson, Caitlyn Autumn Pearson, Anthony April, Cassandra April and Peyton Bradford; one brother, Robert of Arizona and one sister, Lillian Harper, Missouri. Preceding him in death were his parents, one son, Donald Gene Pearson, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral will be held at the Apostolic Faith Church (UPC), Minot, North Dakota on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 2 p.m.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND

Viewing will be on Monday, December 29, 2003 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND
