Joyce Pauline Pausig • 1932 - 2003 Joyce Pauline Pausig, 71, 1714 West Central Ave., Minot, died Sunday, December 7, 2003, in Kenmare. Joyce was born February 25, 1932, in Moorhead, Minnesota, the younger of two children, to Joseph J. and Dorothy B. (Dewey) Wambach. She was raised on a farm near Georgetown, Minnesota. She graduated from high school in Moorhead, MN, in 1950. She attended school at North Dakota State University at Fargo, and graduated from Sisters of St. Joseph School of Nursing in Grand Forks. On September 8, 1953, she married Kenneth Pausig, in Fargo, ND. They lived in Wisconsin and she worked at the Wisconsin State Hospital. They moved to North Dakota and she worked at the State Hospital in Jamestown before moving to Minot. She then worked as a nursing instructor for St. Francis and Trinity School of Nursing RN/LPN Programs. She was a past member of the North Dakota and American Nurses Association, and in 1977 served as District President of that association. She was once honored as "Nurse of the Year." Joyce was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot, since 1965. She was active in the church and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She was also a member of the Antique Collectors Association and the Celtic Society. In 2003 she celebrated 50 years of nursing and in September of 2003 Kenneth and Joyce celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Survivors: Husband, Ken Pausig, Minot; children, Daniel Lee Pausig, and his special friend Charlotte Pausig, both of Minot, Richard Scott (Alice) Pausig, Kenmare, Paul James Pausig, Burlington, and his special friend Roxanna Monson, Minot; five grandchildren, Angie Bruce, Minot, Daniel Pausig, Jr., Bismarck, Melissa Pausig, Kenmare, Cody Pausig, Minot, and Charles Pausig, Burlington; six great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Geneva) Wambach, Moorhead, MN; numerous nieces and nephews survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Dorothy Wambach, and one great-grandchild. Funeral: Friday, December 12, 2003, at 11:00 a.m., at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot. Visitation and Vigil Prayer Service: Visitation will be Thursday, December 11, 2003, from noon to 7:00 p.m., with the vigil prayer service Thursday at 7:00 p.m., all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
