Henry Joseph Patterson 1944 - 2005

Henry Joseph Patterson, 60, 1018 North Main St. Minot, died Thursday, February 10, 2005, in a Minot hospital.

Henry was born September 29, 1944, in Minot, ND, the son of Joseph and Clara (Mock) Patterson. He was raised and educated in Minot, and while in high school worked at the stock yards.

In the early 60's he began working for Sweetheart Bakery, during which time he also worked at MonDac Chemicals for a time. Henry was employed at Sweetheart Bakery for the next 36 years until the bakery closed. In 1999 Henry began working for the Minot Park Board spending summer months working at the Souris Valley Golf Course, and winter months cutting trees and installing lights for the City, until ill health forced him to retire.

On November 9, 1974 Henry married Linda May Borreson in Crosby, ND.

In his younger years Henry enjoyed playing softball and was very active in a Minot softball league. His most avid activity was bowling. His highest game was a 298 and he once bowled close to a 700 series. During the 97 - 98 season their team took first in the league. He was also a very good swimmer and loved to take the family fishing and camping. He enjoyed watching football on television and never missed watching a Super Bowl game.

Survivors: Wife, Linda, Minot; daughter, Polly (Michael) Klemp; twin sons, Mark and Matthew Patterson; grandson, Trevor; mother, Clara Patterson; sister, Gloria (Bob) Boschert; and brother, Joey W. (Gail) Patterson, all of Minot; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Patterson; a stillborn daughter, and a brother, LaVern Patterson; mother and father-in-law, Rose and Einar Borreson.

Funeral: Monday, February 14, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., at Bethel Free Lutheran Church, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Saturday, from noon to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 7:00 p.m.

Prayer Service: Sunday at 7:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
