Barbara Ann Parizek • 1946 - 2004 Barbara Ann Parizek, 58, Surrey, ND, died Thursday, August 5, 2004, at Rice Memorial Hospital, Willmar, MN, from a rare form of cancer. Barbara was born on January 23, 1946, the daughter of Ralph and Ann (Brunner) Schaan in Minot, ND. She was raised and educated in Deering, graduating from Deering High School in 1964. She then attended the Minot Beauty School. Barbara was married to Jerry Jerome Parizek on August 17, 1968, in Washburn, ND. They made their home in Minot from 1968 until 1970 when they moved to Eagan, MN. She was employed part-time at various salons in Eagan until moving to Surrey, ND in 1976. They made their home there where she provided home-health care for over 20 years to her late husband, Jerry, while raising their two children. Jerry died on November 7, 1995. She was employed at JC Penney for 8 years until her recent illness. Barbara was a member of the Minot Quilters Guild, where she served as President for many years. She was also a member of the American Quilter's Society, the VFW and the Eagles Auxiliary. Barbara enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, and playing pinochle. She was a compassionate, giving person who loved spending time with her family, friends, and most of all her two children. Surviving family includes: her mother who survived
her by a few hours, Ann Schaan; Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Ralph; and her husband, Jerry; Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, August 10, 2004,
