Robert W. Palda 1932 - 2011 Bob was born on October 2, 1932 in Minot, ND, a son of Robert W. and Genieve (Vandenoever) Palda. He was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from St. Leo’s High School. He married the former Mary Ann Tallman on July 25, 1953 at the Great Lakes Naval Station in Illinois while serving in the United States Navy. He attended the University of Minnesota and the University of North Dakota Law School, graduating in 1963. Upon graduation, he returned to Minot to start a long and distinguished career as an attorney. Bob was an avid sportsman who was passionate about hunting, fishing, boating and the great Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of Minot; his daughters, Jayne (Dan) Holwegner of Minot and Susan (Steven) Holmly of Hot Springs, AR; son Mark Palda of Minot; grandchildren, Jerica Irmen, Amber Hokanson, Ashley Leigh, Jennifer Hokanson, Nick Holwegner, Alan Palda, Brandon Bradford and Natasha Palda; great grandchildren, Riley Holwegner, Kya Kamrowski, Meegan Leigh and Sawyer Leigh; half sister, Charlotte Engleson of Eureka, MT. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Barbara Mills and a granddaughter, Natasha Palda. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Hospice or the a Cancer Research fund of the donor’s choice. Funeral: Friday, July 22, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot. Visitation: Thursday, July 21, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Burial of Bob’s cremains will take place at a later date in Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND Officiating Clergy: Fr.
