Westlie R. Paige • 1938 - 2008 Westlie was born December 22, 1938 in Rugby, ND, the son of Elmer and Ruth (Bollinger) Paige. He was raised and educated in Upham, ND. Westlie worked construction building power lines for Vicars in Minot and Boehning and Larson in Casper, WY, where he was a heavy equipment operator, truck driver and mechanic. While working in Hysham, Montana in 1964, he met his future life partner, Minerva Garcia. They were married on December 29, 1965. They lived in various cities in North Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, South Dakota, Kansas, Colorado, Montana, Utah and Minnesota, and in 1978 he moved his family permanently to Minot. While in Minot he continued to work building power lines and worked a time for Gravel Products and also worked at Otto Construction of Upham. Westlie and Minerva have two daughters and a son. They are Linde L. Paige, who was born in Bismarck, ND and is the Administrator at Central Michigan University at the Minot Air Force Base. Rita K. Paige, who was born in Ransom, Kansas and is the office manager at Stone Crafters Inc. and Charles A. Paige who was born in Dickinson, ND and works in construction. Westlie enjoyed tinkering in the garage, especially working on cars and he enjoyed keeping his lawn in shape. He had numerous friends and he enjoyed his neighbors. Best of all he loved his puppy, Tillie and his cat, Zarr. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Minot. Those who shared in his life, Wife, Minerva; daughters, Linde and Rita Paige; son, Charles Paige, all of Minot; brothers, Darol Paige of Colorado and Kenny Paige of South Dakota; brothers-in-law, Robert and Roy Garcia, Palmyra, WI, and Joe Garcia, Waxahachie, TX; sisters-in-law, Elsie Bustos of California and Mary Orona of Palmyra, WI; several nieces, nephews and cousins survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ruth Paige, and sister, Ruby Paige. A service to celebrate Westlie's life, Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m., Moose Lodge, Minot, ND. Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends
may sign the guest register Saturday one hour prior to the service
