Ruby Eleanor Paige 1946- 2006


Ruby Eleanor Paige, 59, Minot, ND, formerly of Upham, ND, died Sunday, April 9, 2006, in a Minot hospital.

Ruby was born on July 25, 1946, in Upham, ND, the daughter of Elmer and Ruth (Bollinger) Paige. She was raised and educated in the Upham area and attended Woodward Country School in Little Deep Township and Upham High School.

She married Fred Hoff on March 21, 1966, at Bottineau, ND. The couple moved to Independence, MO, where they had two children, Joanne and Alan. Ruby worked in several plastic factories in Independence and Kansas City, MO. Ruby and Fred later divorced and in 1978, she moved back to Minot, North Dakota with her children. While living in Minot, Ruby worked at various restaurants including Ellisons, Joventes, Café Continetal and Arby's where due to ill health she retired in 1997.

Ruby enjoyed her family, friends, rock concerts, flower gardens, her stuffed animals, which she had 448 of, and taking pictures. Her photo albums included over 6949 pictures. Some of Ruby's special friends and pen pals from Kansas City included Lorraine, Helen, Donna, Loni, and Marva.

Survivors: son, Alan Hoff, Minot; daughter, Joanne (Randy) Brown, Minot; brothers, Westlie (Minerva) Paige, Minot, Kenny Paige, Martin, SD, and Darol Paige, Cedaredge, CO; grandson, Troy Brown, Minot; great-grandson, Dryden Michels, Minot; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Ruth and her two dogs, Dio and Max.

Funeral Service: Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot

Visitation: Friday, April 14, 2006, from Noon until 5 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial will take place on Saturday at Noon at the Union Cemetery, Bantry, ND.
