Paul Milton Overton 1916 - 2003

Paul Milton Overton, 86, Kenmare died Friday, February 21, 2003, in Kenmare.

Paul was born April 24, 1916, on a farm in Rockford Township, North of Norma, ND, the son of John and Johanna (Landrock) Overton. Paul greatest interest was farming and he lived on the family farmstead in Stafford Township his entire life.

He married Hedvig Peterman on November 30, 1941. Two children were born to this union.

Due to his declining health Paul entered the Kenmare Baptist Home in 2000 and was moved to skill care in 2002 where he lived until his death.

Paul was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare and he served on the Stafford Township School Board for many years.

Survivors: wife, Hedvig; sons, Jerry Overton (Nancy) and Dennis Overton (Alvina), all of Kenmare; four grandchildren, Brian Overton (Lori), Jason Overton (Jodie), Blenda Dahlin (Jerome) and Denton Overton (Stacey); six great-grandchildren, Chris Tonsager, Sarah Overton, Samuel Overton, Dillan and Dustin Dahlin and Sierra Overton; two sisters, Mabel Zink, Salem, IN and Ruth Nelson, Eatonville, WA; brothers, James Overton, Riverton, WY, several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Earl, Charles and John Overton, and his sisters, Alice Chastain and Charlotte O'Neal.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, February 25, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare.

Visitation: Monday, February 24, 2003, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare.

Burial: Rosehill Cemetery, Stafford Township rural Norma, ND. Burial will take place in the spring of 2003.
