Agnes Josephine Otteson
1915 - 2004 Agnes Josephine Otteson, 89, Minot, formerly of Ryder, died Thursday, June 24, 2004, in a Minot hospital. She was born on May 16, 1915, in rural Berthold, ND, the daughter of John and Augusta (Larson) Gustafson. She was reared and educated in Berthold. Agnes moved to Minot at a young age and was employed at the Minot Farmers Union cafeteria. In June of 1947, she married Olaf Otteson in Minot. The couple purchased a farm near Ryder where they raised their four children. In 1957, Olaf died in Minot. Agnes lived in Minot the past 11 years at the Semmen's Adult Foster Care Home. Agnes was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Ryder. Survivors: children, Robert (Darla) Otteson, rural Minot, Roger (Marlene) Otteson, Ryder, Jeanette Otteson, Newtown, ND, and John (Lisa) Otteson, Argusville, ND; grandchildren, Tara, Kory, Austyn, Melissa, Shelly, Angie, Linda, John and Kevin; great-grandchildren, KyLee, Kobe, Jayden, Blane, Blake, and Coltyn; brother, Melvin Gustafson, Roy, WA; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olaf, an infant son, her parents, four sisters and one brother. Funeral Service: Monday, June 28, 2004, at 2 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Ryder. Visitation: Sunday, June 27, 2004, from noon until 5 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial; Rosehill Cemetery, Ryder, ND.
