Darin J. Ostlund • 1978 - 2010 Darin James Ostlund was born January 31, 1978 in Mohall, ND to Evan and Sonja (Hellebust) Ostlund. Darin was baptized in Tolley, ND. He lived with his family in Lansford, ND for a time, before moving to Kenmare, where he was raised and educated. He graduated from Kenmare High School in 1996. Following graduation he worked for North Dakota Envelope Company in Kenmare. He later worked for Eagle Operating in Kenmare, and was currently employed by Pioneer Drilling in Kenmare as a driller. While living in Kenmare, Darin attended Nazareth Lutheran Church, where he was confirmed. He loved spending time with his children, Madison and Hunter, who he loved and adored. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He had just recently filled his 2010 North Dakota Moose tag with a 42 inch bull. Those who shared in his life, children, Madison and Hunter Ostlund, Kenmare; mother and step-father, Sonja and Bob Rylander, Kenmare, ND; father, Evan Ostlund, Enderlin, ND; sister, Jessica (Curt) Grindeland, Kenmare; niece and nephew, Chloe and Jamison Grindeland; paternal grandmother, Joyce Ostlund, Kenmare; step-grandfather, Roger Rylander, Minot, ND; half-sister, Tiffany (Corey) Wisner, Bothell, WA and their children, Jacob and Sarah Wisner; step-brothers, Barry Rylander and his daughter, Hailey and Eric Rylander and his sons, Christian and Ethan, and step-sister, Ashley Rylander and her daughter, Amanda, all of Bay City, MI; aunts and uncles, Mary Jean and Donald Reese, Eunice, NM, Nancy Volkman, Oakdale, MN, Alan and Mona Ostlund, Lake Shasta, CA; and several cousins Darin was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Ostlund; nephew, Shawn Provo; his maternal grandparents, Knute and Bernice Hellebust; paternal grandfather, Harry Ostlund, and aunt, Norma Lundgren; step-grandmother, Peggy Rylander. Funeral: Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare, ND. Visitation: Wednesday, October 20, 2010, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare, ND. Burial: Hammerly Cemetery, rural Mohall, ND.
