Edmund Henry "Ed"
Osterhues 1928 - 2003 Edmund Henry "Ed" Osterhues, 75, Granville, died Friday, August 1, 2003, in a Minot hospital. Edmund was born April 18, 1928 in Duluth, MN, the son of Joseph and Frances Osterhues. He graduated from Morgan Park High School in Duluth. Edmund entered the United States Navy and was stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. While there he played center for the Navy Basketball Team. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy he attended the University of Minnesota at Duluth, where he graduated. Edmund taught high school at Swanville, MN, and Litchfield, MN. Ed was once married to Lois Schlumpberger. He taught junior high school for 20 years at South St. Paul, MN. On June 20, 1976, he married Eunice Everson. Ed retired from teaching and returned to the family farm near Granville, where he farmed from 1978 to 1994. Following his retirement he continued to live on the farm. Ed was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Velva, ND. Survivors: Wife, Eunice, Granville, ND. His daughters, Kim (Rick) Roy, Eden Prairie, MN, and Kelly (Mark) Burgeson, Prior Lake, MN; grandchildren, Taylor and Riley Roy and Paige Burgeson; sister, Harriet Koski, of Las Vegas, Nevada; brothers, Vern (Rose) Osterhues, Blaine, MN, Joe (Florence) Osterhues, McGregor, MN, and Bob (Cec) Osterhues, Spooner, WI; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Osterhues, and brother-in-law, Frank Koski. Funeral: Tuesday, August 5, 2003, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Velva, ND. Visitation: Monday, August 4, 2003, from noon to 7:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND. Burial: Stenkjaer Lutheran Cemetery, Simcoe, ND. Memorials are preferred to the Holy Cross Cemetery, Velva
and Stenkjaer Lutheran Cemetery, Simcoe.
