Valeria Olson • 1920 - 2009 Valeria Evelyn Voight was born on October 20, 1920, at Osakis, MN to Max and Hattie Voight. She was raised on the family farm and attended rural school near Osakis. She was united in marriage to Leslie Olson on September 13, 1944 at Alexandria, MN. Five children were born to this union, Vivian, Dale, Rodney, Wanda and Harmon. In October, 1955 the family moved to Tioga, ND and lived there for the next 14 years. After that time they returned to Minnesota where they retired at Alexandria. Mr. Olson passed away in April of 1991 and shortly after Valeria returned to Tioga to be near family. For the past 5 years Valeria has resided at the Kensington assisted living in Williston. Valeria loved gardening and her "green thumb" showed
in the beautiful flowers she grew. She also loved to do her counted
cross stitch handiwork and many in her family were recipients
of her beautiful work. Those who shared her life: daughters: Vivian (Lynn) Ferguson, Minot, ND, Wanda (Larry) Heimdal, Minneapolis, MN; son, Dale Olson, Alexandria, MN; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; sisters: Erma (Adolph) Chermak, St. Cloud, MN, Alvina (Tino) DiFonzo, Sparks, NV; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Valeria was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leslie, sons Rodney and Harmon. Funeral Service: Monday, June 22, 2009, at 10:30 am
