Curtiss A. Olson 1935 - 2011

Curtiss Olson PhotoCurtiss A. Olson, 76, Minot, ND, died Sunday, May 29, 2011, in a Minot hospital.  

Curtiss Allen Olson was born April 20, 1935, a son of Bennie H. and Esther A. (Rustad) Olson, in Minot, ND. He was raised and attended school in Minot. In 1950, he moved to Grafton, ND, where he attended the Grafton State School until it closed. He then made his home in Grand Forks, ND, until 1995, he moved back to Minot, where he attended Bethany Lutheran Church. Most recently, he had been a resident at Trinity Homes, where he enjoyed going to Church.

He enjoyed going to the 2nd Story, who were very helpful to him. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially Kings Corner and Whist; and traveling, especially to Branson, Missouri, California, and Lake Metigoshe.

He was very outgoing, well liked, and had a good sense of humor. He loved people and never criticized or said anything bad about someone. 

Surviving family includes:  brothers, Arthur Olson, Grand Forks, Kenneth (Esther) Olson, Minot, and Gordon (Helen) Olson, San Clemente, CA; sisters-in-law, Lillian Olson, Minot, and Phyllis Olson, Bismarck; brother-in-law, Ross Van Sickle, Phoenix, AZ; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Curtiss was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bernette (James) Guthrie, Eldrice Van Sickle; brothers, Harlan Olson, Richard (Lucille) Olson, Vernon Olson; sister-in-law, Nola Olson; niece, Gail Olson; and nephew, Jerry Olson.

Memorial Service: Friday, June 3, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. .

Interment:
  Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Visitation: 
There will be no reviewal but friends may sign the book on Thursday from Noon to 5 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials
: are preferred to the 2nd Story.

Following the memorial service, we will leave in procession to Rosehill Memorial Park. Due to the evacuation of Trinity Homes, there will not be a time of fellowship and refreshments.

Our family would like to thank all of you for your many acts of kindness. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated during this difficult time. May God bless the memory of Curtiss.
