Catherine Olson • 1958- 2006 Catherine Jean "Cathy" Heise was born on October 19, 1958, the daughter of James and Margaret (Wells) Heise in Minot, ND. She was raised and educated in New Town, ND, graduating from New Town High School in 1976. Cathy married Danny Olson on July 1, 1978, in New Town, ND. They raised their family on the Olson family farm near Deering. Cathy and Danny enjoyed life on the farm, renovating the family farmhouse that Danny grew up in. They also enjoyed raising their animals and their garden. She had attended Minot State University, where she received her B.S. degree in Social Work. She had helped young girls in crisis situations at the Domestic Violence Crisis Center as well as the Oppen Home in Minot for a short time. In the past, she had dealt Black Jack in Minot, worked at Choice Hotels, and Sykes. Most recently she was employed at ING, where she was among many of her close friends. Her joy in life was her family. She loved spending time with her grandson, Hayden. Cathy also enjoyed traveling with her husband to visit family and friends. At home, she took pride in her baking and cooking abilities as well. She was a member of the Deering Garden Club, Silver Lining Investment Club, the New Town American Legion Auxiliary, the ND Family Based Services and most recently was a member of the 2005 Deering Reunion Committee. She was also a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot, and had attended the Deering Lutheran Church. Surviving family includes: husband, Danny, Deering, ND; children, Jeremy Olson, Henderson, NV, Erin (Philip) Barry, Oklahoma City, OK, Elizabeth (Travis) Posey, Minot, and Tami Monge, a close family friend; Bismarck; grandson, Hayden Posey, the pride of her life; step-grandson, Zachary; mother, Margaret Heise, New Town, ND; sisters, Carol (Steve) Hall, Parshall, ND, Connie (Doug) Osowksi, Larimore, ND, and Cindy Fisher, Austin, MN; brothers-in-law, Larry Olson, Auburn, MA, and Rev. Jeremiah Olson, S. St. Paul, MN; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Cathy was preceded in death by her father; father- and mother-in-law, grandparents; brother, Craig; and a nephew. Funeral: Friday, June 2, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at Bethany
