Clifford L. Olson 1913 - 2002 Clifford L. Olson, 88, Glenburn, died Sunday, May 26, 2002, in a Minot hospital. Clifford was born October 6, 1913 in Ree Township, rural Donnybrook, ND, the son of James and Martha (Larson) Olson. He was educated in the Donnybrook area and graduated from Donnybrook High School in 1932. He farmed with his parents, then worked on a ranch in Montana for a time before returning to the family farm in 1935. He married Olive Bjelland on April 25, 1938 at the Olson farm. In 1942 they moved to a farm near Tagus, ND until moving to Glenburn in 1947 where they farmed and raised cattle until 1981. They retired and moved into Glenburn. Growing up he attended the Aurelia Moravian Church and the Hartland Lutheran Church. He was currently a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Glenburn. He enjoyed woodworking. He made many items which were given to relatives and friends. He also liked to read. He found great joy and satisfaction in farming and watching things grow. His family was his pride and joy with many good memories of the children growing up and his experiences with them. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge and a current member of the Sons of Norway Thor Lodge 4-067, both in Minot. He also belonged to the Glenburn Senior Citizens. Survivors: Wife, Olive Olson, Glenburn; daughters, Jean (Robert) Pletan, Wilsall, MT, Joyce Rowene (Guy) Vincent, Seattle, WA; daughter-in-law, Susan Olson, Bowbells; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Laura Olson, Minot, and Sadie Olson, Port Orchard, WA; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his son, Lyle Olson of Bowbells; his parents, five brothers and three sisters. Funeral: Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Glenburn. Visitation: Tuesday (today) May 28, 2002, from noon to 7:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Burial: Wednesday at 4:00 p.m., at Aurelia Community Cemetery, rural Donnybrook, ND.
