June Olds • 1938 - 2011

June Olds, 72, Kenmare, ND, formerly of Crosby, ND, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011, in a Minot hospital.

June Shirley Olds was born April 23, 1938, a daughter of Robert and Hazel (Falter) Ward, in Fordville, ND. She was raised and educated in Kenmare, graduating from Kenmare High School in 1956.

June married Dwain “Duke” Olds in 1969. They made their home in Crosby, where they resided until 2000, when they moved to Kenmare.

She attended the United Methodist Church in Kenmare.

June was an accomplished accordion and piano player. She enjoyed quilting, reading, watching racing, and loved her cats. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her loving family includes:  husband, Duke, Kenmare; daughter, Connie Faldalen, Havre, MT; stepsons, Don Olds, New Rockford, ND, and Jeff Olds, Hayden Lake, ID;
grandchildren, Ole Faldalen, Randy Faldalen, Nathan Olds, Misty Olds, Rikki Hewson, and Karlie Olds; great-grandchildren, Aleah, Roman, and Jaxyn Faldalen, and Zane and Talyb Hewson; brothers, Kermit Ward, Kenmare; and two nieces, two nephews and several cousins.

June was preceded in death by her parents; sons, David and Dwight Olds; and brothers, Gerald and Richard Ward.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial Service: Saturday, March 5, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, Kenmare.

Visitation:  Saturday one hour prior to the service at the Church of the Nazarene, Kenmare.

Memorials: are preferred to Souris Valley Animal Shelter or an organization of the donor’s choice.
