Myron "Mike" Russell Oja 1945 - 2004

Myron "Mike" Russell Oja, 59, Mohall, formerly of Minot, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004 in Minot Hospital.

He was born on January 14, 1945 in Minot, ND to Russell and Nadine (Dickey) Oja. He was raised in Minot and worked as a cook for over 35 years. He worked as a cook in Minot before moving to California and Texas for a time before moving back to Minot where he lived for a time before moving to Glasgow, Montana. He later returned to Minot where he resided until moving into the Mohall Good Samaritan Center on October 22, 2003. The areas in Minot that he worked as a cook included the Airport Café, the International Inn, the Souris Valley Golf Course, Cathy's Café, Gladys Café, Charlie's Café, the old Country Kitchen, the Royal Fork and the Eagles Aerie. He also worked at the Hub Restaurant in Rugby. He also owned and operated Oja's Family Restaurant in Minot and another restaurant in Glasgow, Mt.

Mike was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and a former member of the Eagles Aerie. Mike loved to fish.

He is survived by his daughter, Niki, living in New Jersey, two grandchildren; his mother and step-father, Nadine and Harding Sollid, Minot, sister, Melodie Brunk, Minot, step-sisters, Karla and Marlese Kubler, Minot; step-brother, Darrell Kubler, Minot. Uncle, Dewaine and Glenn Dickey, Minot; aunt, NaDora Bachmeier, Flushing, Michigan. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father, step-father, Clarence Kubler; sisters, Diane Kubler and Rita Mae Kubler, grandparents, Frank and Clara Dickey and Esther and Rudolph Oja, nephew, Allen Long.

His funeral will be on Monday, June 21, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 20, 2004 at noon until 5 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
