Jerry Nygard 1956 - 2003 Jerry Nygard, 47, 5211 County Rod 19 South, Minot, died Friday near Minot. He was born August 1, 1956, to Irvin and DeLorse (Hanson) Nygard in Williston, ND. At the age of one, he moved to Minot with his family. He attended school in both Portal and Minot, graduating from Minot High School. He then entered the United States Army in October of 1975 and was honorably discharged in 1979. He returned to Minot and worked as a salesman for various car dealerships and was currently employed at Auto-Xing. He was once married to Tracy Dykhoff. His pride and joy was his dogs, including a Springer Spaniel he still had. He always took such loving care of his animals. Jerry was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He loved all of his friends and would do anything for anybody. Jerry was raised in the Lutheran faith and was a member of various hunting and golfing clubs, including the Portal International Golf Club. Survivors: sister, Sherry Lynn Edwardson and her companion, Rick Cramer, both of Minot; nephew, Alfred Alvin Josh Edwardson; special friends, Zoie and Kelsey that called him "Grandpa"; aunts and uncles, Vi and Leo Ceglowski, Minot and Ernie and Shirley Hanson, Minot. He was preceded in death by his father, Irvin Nygard and mother, DeLorse Berry. Funeral: Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Burlington. Visitation: Tuesday, from noon until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
