Norman Edwin Nordlinder 1930 - 2005

Norman Edwin Nordlinder, 75, Minot, died Tuesday, January 25, 2005, in the Westhope Nursing Home.

Norman was born January 2, 1930, in Duluth, MN, the son of John and Evelyn (Harrum) Nordlinder. He attended country school in New Rockford, ND, and graduated from Verona High School, Verona, ND. While growing up he worked on the family farm.

Norman entered the United States Army on October 30, 1951 and served during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on September 22, 1953 and returned to Verona, ND. He worked road construction from 1953 to 1972 for Northern Improvement, Lindteigen, Minot Paving, and was supervisor at the Minot Air Force Base roads and grounds until his retirement.

On October 22, 1966 Norman married Lorna Tennyson in Antler, ND.

Norman loved his family and especially loved his granddaughter, Emma Rae. He also liked playing cards. He was a member of the American Legion and the National Association of Retired and Federal Employees.

Survivors: Wife, Lorna, Minot; son, Tory Nordlinder, Neenah, WI; daughter, Traci (Jason) Zimmerman, Green Bay, WI; granddaughter, Emma Rae Zimmerman; brothers, Roger Nordlinder, New Rockford, Marvin Nordlinder, Lisbon, Dennis Nordlinder of Florida, and Don (Nancy) Nordlinder of Alaska; sisters, Delores Lucht, Braham, MN, and Marlys (James) Raatz, Verona, ND; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evelyn Nordlinder; brother, Arnold Nordlinder; and sisters, Bernice Prichard, and Norma Hoover.

Memorial Service: Saturday, January 29, 2005, at 2:00 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot.

Burial: A private burial will be held Friday, January 28, 2005, at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan, ND.

There will be no reviewal, friends may sign the register Saturday one hour prior to the service in the church.
