Wayne Nordin • 1921 - 2003 Wayne Nordin, 81, 404 Davis St. N., Burlington, ND, died Sunday, May 4, 2003, in his home. Wayne was born October 29, 1921, in Stacy, MN, the son of James and Anna (Keacher) Nordin. He was raised and educated in that area. On June 29, 1940 he married Doris Grace Schuneman. They lived and worked in St. Paul, MN, until 1949, when they moved to Riverdale, ND, where Wayne worked on the Garrison Dam Project. When that job was complete they moved to Minot, where he owned and operated a Phillips 66 station on south hill. In 1963 they moved to Wisconsin and all around the United States where he was employed as an ironworker. They moved back to Minnesota in 1977 and remained in St. Paul until moving to Burlington, ND in the summer of 2002. Doris Grace Nordin died April 17, 2003. Wayne was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Forest Lake, MN. Survivors: Daughter, Barbara Enney, Burlington; son, Gary Nordin, Siren, WI; 11 grandchildren, James, Melissa, Wendy, Steve, Tina, Aimee, Garyson, Matt, Dori, Luke and Michelle; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lenore Videen, Lindstrom, MN; numerous nieces and nephews survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Grace Nordin; his parents; brothers, Loren Nordin and Ray Hamilton, and sister, Marion Reed. Cremation took place and a private burial will be held at
a later time at the Scandinavian Cemetery, in Forest Lake, MN. |
