Doris Grace Nordin 1922 - 2003

Doris Grace Nordin, 80, 404 Davis St. N., Burlington, ND, died Thursday, April 17, 2003, in a Minot hospital.

Doris was born November 25, 1922, in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Herman and Grace (Schott) Schuneman. She was raised and educated in St. Paul.

On June 29, 1940 she married Wayne Nordin. They lived and worked in St. Paul until 1949 when they moved to Riverdale, ND, to work on the Garrison Dam Project. When that job was complete they moved to Minot, where Wayne owned and operated a Phillips 66 station on south hill, and Doris worked at Larry's Café and Kelley's Bottle Shop. In 1963 they moved to Wisconsin and all around the United States where Wayne worked as an ironworker. They moved back to Minnesota in 1977 and remained in St. Paul until moving to Burlington, ND in the summer of 2002.

Doris was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Forest Lake, MN, and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors: Husband, Wayne Nordin, Burlington; daughter, Barbara Enney, Burlington; son, Gary Nordin, Siren, WI; 11 grandchildren, James, Melissa, Wendy, Steve, Tina, Aimee, Garyson, Matt, Dori, Luke and Michelle; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Geraldine Batterson, Forest Lake, MN; numerous nieces and nephews survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Herman Schuneman, and brothers, Clement and Ervin Schuneman.

Cremation took place and a private burial will be held at a later time at the Scandinavian Cemetery in Forest Lake, MN.
