Gloria M. Nord 1931 - 2010 Gloria Mae Twylah Liudahl was born on April 2, 1931, born to Theodore and Gladys (Ellingson) Liudahl, on the family farm in South Viking Township, Maddock, ND. She was 100% Norwegian and very proud of it. She attended Quarve School #3. She graduated from Benson County Agricultural and Training School (B.C.A.T.S.) in 1949, where she enjoyed rope spinning and baton twirling under Bob Rindt’s leadership. She attended NDSU (NDAC) in Fargo, followed by working at the ASCS office in Minnewauken. On June 28, 1953, Gloria was united in marriage to Lyder Nord in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. They lived in Churchs Ferry, Rugby, and in 1967 moved to Minot. She babysat, was a Tupperware dealer for ten years, a caregiver for the elderly and handicapped, and was well known for her lefse making, rolling well over one thousand rounds each year. In 1985, they moved southeast of Minot. Gloria was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church, Minot. She was a deeply caring person, who loved visiting and having fun. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, knitting, working in her flower gardens, and playing Scrabble with Lyder. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and adoring grandmother to Daisy, Luke and Justin. She will be missed by all that knew her, as she was everybody’s “favorite.” Those who shared in her life: Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ardell, Lester, Kenneth, Roger, Virgil, Mayo, infant brother Gordon, brother-in-law Ivan Sears, and nephew Ron Erickson. Visitation: Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 1 pm until 5 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Funeral Service: Monday, March 8, 2010, at 1 pm at Augustana Lutheran Church, located at 321 University Ave. West, Minot Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
