Kenneth L. Nielsen • 1930 - 2003 Kenneth L. Nielsen, 72, Norma, died Tuesday, April 22, 2003, in a Minot hospital. Kenneth was born September 10, 1930, on the family farm in Renville County, rural Norma, ND, the son of Johannes and Marian (Nielsen) Nielsen. He was raised in that area and graduated from Kenmare High School. On July 24, 1950, he married Dyvonne "Vonnie" Thompson in Sheridan, WY. They lived in Sheridan for a couple of months before moving to their current farm in Renville County, rural Norma, ND. They farmed and ranched their entire lives. Kenneth also operated K and V Repair Shop on the farm, where he repaired small engines, which he enjoyed doing very much. Together the couple owned and operated Nielsen Arena for 13 years. Survivors: Wife, Dyvonne "Vonnie" Nielsen, Norma; daughter, Connie Howell and her companion, Kevin Feldman, both of Norma; two grandchildren, Scott Howell, Billings, MT, and Michelle (David) Livingston, Flat Rock, MI; two great-granddaughters, Megan and Holly Livingston; sister, Doris Condon, Forest Lake, MN; mother-in-law, Anna Thompson, Hillsboro, OR; brother-in-law, Vernon Mickelson, Libby, MT; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johannes and Marian Nielsen; sisters, Gladys Person and Elna Mickelson; brothers-in-law, Garrett Condon and John Person. Cremation has taken place, and a graveside service will be held at a later time Thursday, June 19, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare, ND. Officiant: Rev.
