Lawrence G. Nichols 1924 - 2004

Lawrence G. Nichols, 79, 305 8th Ave NE, Minot, ND, died Friday, May 28, 2004, at a Minot nursing home.

He was born on August 15, 1924, at Berthold, ND, the son of Raymond A. and Dora (Houle) Nichols. He grew up on the family farm near Berthold and was educated in that area. As a young man Lawrence worked on a farm for John Lovedahl near Ryder. Later he worked for the Great Northern Railroad as a carman for ten years and then at Leonard and Selma Barlow's farm north of Minot for over 30 years. After he retired Lawrence resided at Milton Young Towers. In the fall of 2000, he entered Trinity Homes.

He was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.

Survivors: brothers, Jim (Sharon) Nichols, Berthold, Alfred (Delores) Nichols, Minot, and Bernie (Linda) Nichols, Boulevard, CA; sisters, Mary Krogstad and Helen Johnson, both Minot, Bernice Tomascik, Las Vegas, NV, and Alice (Donald) Blumhoff, Sioux Falls, SD; several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Agnes Johnson, and brother, Joseph Nichols.

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, June 4, 2004, at 10 a.m. at Trinity Homes Chapel, Minot.

Visitation: Thursday, June 3, 2004, from Noon until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Rosary Recitation: Thursday, at 7 pm. at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Noon on Friday at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
