Ralph Nicholls • 1935 - 2006 Ralph Nicholls, 70, Kenmare, died Friday, January 20, 2006, at his home. He was born on June 15, 1935, in Battle Creek, MI, the son of Lloyd and Amanda (Footh) Nicholls. He moved to Kenmare in 1950, where he worked several jobs. On March 22, 1958, he married Maxine Johnson in Kenmare. In 1971, Ralph went to work for the Soo Line Railroad. In 1992, he retired from the railroad due to health reasons. Survivors: wife, Maxine, Kenmare; daughters, Sherry (Duane) Golde, Sandy (Kelley) Peterson, all of Kenmare, Susan Bartram, Ft. Sam Houston, TX, Stephanie Nicholls and her fiancé Mike Burtch, Kenmare; brothers, Russell (Patti) Nicholls, Big Springs, NE, Eldon (Joyce) Nicholls, Battle Creek, MI; sister, Arlene (Jack) Cruse, Battle Creek, MI; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, one granddaughter, two sisters and one brother. Cremation has take place and a Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2006, at 1 p.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare.
