Darold Nelson • 1946 - 2006 Darold was born on October 15, 1946, the son of Irwin A. and Ruth V. (Derhiem) Nelson in Minot, ND. He graduated Valedictorian of the White Shield High School, Roseglen, ND in 1964. Following graduation, Darold worked with his dad on the family farm in Roseglen. He also drove school bus for several years for North Shore School, Makoti, ND. In 1990 he moved to Minot. Farming was Darold's greatest enjoyment. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, eating his mother's wonderful cooking, and music. Darold was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Roseglen. He is survived by: Mother, Ruth Nelson, Minot; sisters: Cindy Nelson, Minot and Lorraine J. Yahnke, Bend, OR; uncle: Kenneth Nelson, St. Paul, MN; nieces: Sarah Gardner, Bend, OR; Melissa Yahnke, Bend, OR; several cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law, Gene D. Yahnke. Visitation: Friday, June 23, 2006 from 2-7 at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Funeral Service: Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot Officiant: Rev.
